Lemon savory (Satureja Montana ssp. Citriodora) is a perennial herbaceous plant that belongs to the family Oral flowers. The stems are compactly collected and erect, with small gray-green leaves and small delicate pink-purple flowers. The plant is native to southern Europe and the Mediterranean region.


Lemon savory has a strong aroma of lemon, and according to its taste is very similar to lemon thyme and can be used as a substitute. The lemon aroma of the herb gives a fresh note to the herbal teas.


Nowadays, this herb is a major part of many herb gardens. Lemon savory is said to have many health benefits, with particular interest in its healing benefits for the entire digestive system.
